Self-Portrait, Flannery O’Connor

Flannery O'Connor self-portrait

If you love her writing, you must love this portrait.  Direct stare at reality, and her hand on the shoulder of the peacock.

My favorite story of hers is “Revelation.”

Several quotes from her:

The truth does not change according to our ability to stomach it.
There’s many a bestseller that could have been prevented by a good teacher.
I don’t deserve any credit for turning the other cheek as my tongue is always in it.
